PROScenia began in 1999 for a contract providing event support and technical management for a Millennium Street Party in Newcastle. Though Andrew had been using the trading name for a while before that, this would be the first official PROScenia contract. Andrew and his staff planned, supplied, installed and operated all the technical equipment for what was to be a highly enjoyable event. The planning for the event also involved consultancy on licensing and public safety considerations and booking the musical entertainment for the evening.
Since that first contract, the business has continued to grow with projects of increasing complexity and challenge helping to build the business and develop an increasing number of very satisfied clients.
Our work over the years has taken us into venues as diverse as Ripon Cathedral; The Arches, Glasgow; The SECC; The King’s Theatre, Edinburgh and many other theatres, halls, churches, conference and party venues.
The business has provided a wide range of services, primarily based around Lighting Design, Sound and Electrics, but also spanning other disciplines including Stage Management, Event Planning, Scenic Construction and Installation. This is achieved through using a wide range of experienced freelance staff in the development of projects. By involving these freelancers we can provide a wider range of services while keeping overheads and prices down.
PROScenia is not just about doing the work and taking the fee. We believe in developing relationships with clients and the wider live perfomance industries. We support the training of new professionals and the development of new works and take seriously the industry’s responsibility to develop new talent for the future.
